What It Is:
The 3331818 Male Elbow Connector is a threaded fluid fitting designed for Cummins diesel engines in heavy machinery. It changes the direction of fluid flow in hydraulic systems, fuel supply lines, and cooling circuits-3-.
In engine-driven equipment, piping rarely runs in straight lines. Space constraints, component layouts, and vibration requirements force fluid lines to bend. This elbow does the bending-with a seal that stays intact under pressure.
Material & Construction
The body is manufactured from high-strength stainless steel or precision-forged alloy steel-3-1. Key material properties:
Corrosion resistance: Withstands exposure to hydraulic fluids, diesel fuel, coolant, and ambient moisture without degradation-1-3
Pressure tolerance: Rated for operating pressures up to 300 Bar (approximately 4,350 PSI)-3-1

The inner wall is polished to reduce fluid resistance and turbulence-3-1. The outer surface receives zinc plating or phosphating treatment to enhance rust resistance in harsh working conditions-3-1.

Sealing System
The critical feature of this connector is its sealing system. The sealing surface is precision CNC-machined and fitted with a Fluoroelastomer (FKM) or Nitrile Butadiene Rubber (NBR) O-ring seal-3-1.
FKM is the preferred material for high-temperature hydraulic applications, offering superior resistance to heat, oil, and chemical degradation. NBR provides excellent oil resistance and mechanical durability at a lower cost point.
The double O-ring configuration (when equipped) delivers IP67-rated waterproofing and vibration resistance-1-critical for equipment that operates in muddy construction sites or rain-exposed mining environments.
