Diesel generator exhaust pipe installation precautions

The size of the exhaust pipe of the diesel generator set is determined by the product, because the exhaust volume of the unit is not the same for different brands. Small 50mm, large hundreds of mm. The size of the first exhaust pipe is determined by the size of the exhaust outlet flange of the unit. And the elbow of the exhaust pipe also affects the size of the exhaust pipe. The more elbows, the greater the smoke resistance, and the pipe diameter must be increased. After three 90-degree bends, the pipe diameter is increased by 25.4mm. The number of changes in the length and direction of the exhaust pipe must be minimized. In the selection of equipment and the design and layout of the generator room, you should pay attention to the following factors.
1, diesel generator exhaust pipe arrangement
1) The bellows must be connected with the exhaust outlet of the unit to absorb thermal expansion, displacement and vibration.
2) When the muffler is placed in the machine room, it can be supported from the ground according to its size and weight.
3) In the part of the smoke pipe changing direction, it is recommended to install an expansion joint to offset the thermal expansion of the pipeline when the diesel generator set is running.
4) The inner bending radius of the 90-degree elbow should be 3 times the diameter of the pipe.
5) Level silencer as close to the unit as possible.
6) When the pipeline is long, it is recommended to install a rear silencer at the end.
7) The smoke exhaust terminal outlet can not be directly against flammable substances or buildings.
8) The smoke outlet of the unit shall not be subjected to heavy pressure, and all steel pipelines shall be supported and fixed with the help of buildings or steel structures.
2, diesel generator set smoke pipe installation
1) In order to prevent condensate from flowing into the unit, the flat exhaust pipe should have a slope, and the low end is far away from the engine; A drain should be provided in the muffler and any other part of the pipe where condensate trickles, such as the vertical turn of the smoke pipe.
2) When the smoke pipe passes through the flammable roof, wall or divider, it should be insulated sleeve and wall jacket board.
3) If conditions permit, most of the smoke tubes should be arranged outside the machine room as far as possible to reduce radiant heat; All indoor smoke pipes should be equipped with thermal insulation jackets. If installation conditions require the silencer and the remaining piping to be placed indoors, the entire piping should be insulated with 50 mm thick high-density insulation material and aluminum sheathing.
4) Thermal expansion should be allowed when the pipeline support is fixed;
5) The end of the smoke pipe should be able to avoid rain dripping. The horizontal plane of the smoke pipe can be extended for outlet repair or installation of rain caps.
3, diesel generator set smoke pipe installation precautions:
1) The exhaust pipe of each diesel engine should be led out of the room separately, and it should be laid overhead or in the gutter. The exhaust pipe and muffler should be separately supported, and should not be directly supported on the exhaust pipe of the diesel engine or fixed on other parts of the diesel engine. A flexible connection is adopted between the exhaust lead pipe and the exhaust main pipe. The bracket on the exhaust pipe must allow the pipe to expand or adopt a roller bracket, and the short flexible pipe or expansion bellows should be between the two fixed brackets of the long pipe and combined into one.
2) The length of the exhaust pipe and the matching requirements with the pipe diameter should be determined according to the data provided by the manufacturer. If the exhaust pipe needs to pass through the wall, a protective cover should be configured. The pipe outlet should be equipped with a rainproof cap or cut into an Angle of 320~450. The wall thickness of all smoke exhaust pipes should not be less than 3mm.
3) The direction of the exhaust pipe should be fireproof, and the outdoor part should be set up with a slope of 0.3% to 0.5%. Slope to the outside, easy to exhaust the condensate and condensate water. If the horizontal pipe is long, install the blowdown valve at the low point.
4) When the smoke exhaust pipe in the equipment room is laid overhead, the indoor part should be equipped with a protective insulation layer, and the thickness of the insulation layer less than 2 meters from the ground should not be less than 60 mm; Safety measures should also be considered when the smoke exhaust pipe is laid under the fuel pipe overhead or through the fuel pipe in the gutter.
5) When the exhaust pipe is long, the natural compensation section should be used, and if unconditional, the compensator should be installed.
6) The smoke exhaust pipe should not bend too much, the bending degree should be greater than 900, and the general bending should not exceed three times, otherwise it will lead to poor smoke exhaust of the diesel engine and affect the power output of the diesel engine unit.
