When the diesel generator set is in a closed state and placed outdoors, a water jacket heater should be installed when the local air temperature is prone to below 4 degrees Celsius; Those who have not installed a water jacket heater should always pay attention to weather changes. If the temperature is below 4 degrees Celsius, the cooling water in the cooling water tank of the diesel generator set should be immediately discharged, because the volume of water will change significantly at 4 degrees Celsius. When water changes from liquid to solid, the volume will increase and expand, which will damage the radiator of the water tank.

The diesel generator set operates in a poor working environment in winter, and the low temperature has particularly high requirements for air and diesel filters. If not replaced in time, it will increase the wear and tear of the diesel engine, affecting its service life. Therefore, it is necessary to increase the frequency of replacing the air filter in winter compared to other seasons.

When changing the oil of diesel generator sets in winter, it is recommended to use oil with a lower viscosity.

When starting a diesel generator set in winter, the temperature of the air sucked into the cylinder is relatively low, and it is difficult for the gas to reach the ignition point of diesel after being compressed by the piston. So before starting the generator set, corresponding auxiliary measures should be taken to increase the temperature of the diesel engine body, such as installing a water jacket heater.

If there is no machine equipped with a water jacket heater. The mechanical adjustment diesel generator set should first run at low speed for 3-5 minutes in order to increase the overall temperature of the diesel generator set. After checking everything is normal, it can be put into normal operation.
