1. Hunting (typical periodic fluctuation)

- Characteristics: Regular rotational speed, periodic back-and-forth fluctuation, with a fixed cycle of fast and slow, like breathing, with uniform frequency.

- Manifestation: Sound cycles of "humming-pause-humming-pause," periodic oscillation of frequency and voltage in sync, most obvious at idle/no load.

- Nature: Speed regulation system oscillation, governor over-corrects, repeatedly increasing and decreasing fuel, causing vibration.

- Typical scenarios: mechanical governor flyweights sticking, air ingress in oil circuits, insufficient governor damping, excessive governor gain.

1. Typical case of hunting.

The air filter is half-blocked, and adding load causes the RPM to randomly drop; one cylinder's injector is stuck, causing irregular RPM fluctuations-this is considered unstable RPM, not hunting.
